Public Hearing Notice
The White River Regional Solid Waste Management District will conduct a public hearing from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2026, in the County Judge’s Office Conference Room, located at 300 West Main Street, Heber Springs, Arkansas.
The purpose of the hearing is to discuss the proposed need for a modification of the existing transfer station permit for the Cleburne County Transfer Station. The Certificate of Need request is for a minor permit modification to increase the permitted throughput of the transfer station. No new construction or modifications to the existing facility are proposed. The modification will allow Waste Connections to meet the growing demand for responsible solid waste management services in northern Arkansas.
The transfer station is located at 154 Libby Road, Heber Springs, Arkansas.
This public hearing is required under the Policies and Procedures and Criteria for the Certificate of Need Program for Solid Waste Landfill Facilities. All interested persons are invited to attend.
Anyone wishing to review the petition for the Certificate of Need may do so between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. at the White River Planning and Development District, 4441 Harrison Street, Batesville, Arkansas. The review period will begin on the date of publication of this notice and will continue for thirty (30) days.
All comments must be submitted in writing and will become part of the application record.
