Invitation to Bid
Sealed bids addressed to the City of Ward, will be received at the Ward City Hall, 405 Hickory St., Ward, AR 72176, until 2:00pm on October 13, 2026, for the construction of WARD BREWER ST. SIDEWALK EXT- (TAP-23) (S). The sealed bids will then be opened and publicly read aloud. The work includes all labor, material, and equipment required to perform the work as described in the project plans and specifications. The construction of sidewalks includes but is not limited to concrete work (sidewalk, driveways, retaining walls, headwalls), grading, concrete drainage pipe, crosswalk striping, truncated domes, pedestrian railing, and chain link fence.
The City of Ward is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, marital or veteran status, political status, disability status or other legally protected status. Pursuant to Arkansas Code Annotated §22-9-203: The City of Ward encourages all qualified small, minority and women business enterprises to propose on and receive contracts for goods, services, and construction.
The City of Ward hereby notifies all bidders that this contract is subject to applicable labor laws, non-discrimination provisions, wage rate laws and other federal laws including the Fair Labor Standards Acts of 1938. The Work Hours Act of 1962 and Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 also apply.
BIDDERS ARE ADVISED that Arkansas State Contractor Licensing Law applies to this project. Subcontractors are also required to be licensed according to Arkansas State Law. Licensure is not required to submit a bid; however, evidence of licensure shall be provided to the Owner prior to signing the contract.
BUILD AMERICA, BUY AMERICA PROVISIONS apply to this contract. The Arkansas Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Highway Construction, latest edition, Section
106 contains the requirements and restrictions for Buy America. 23 CFR §635.410 contains all federal requirements for Buy America. Registration and good standing in the System for Award Management (SAM) will be required prior to contract execution.”
The City of Ward is not responsible for lost or misguided bids.
