Zone 6 Vacancy on the Board of Education
Mrs. Valerie McLean, the Zone 6 representative on the North Little Rock Board of Education, resigned on June 29, 2026. This zone represents Crestwood Elementary School and Lakewood Elementary School. This link shows the boundaries of Zone 6. North Little Rock residents living in Zone 6 who are registered voters and interested in filling the Board of Education vacancy left by Mrs. McLean should submit the following documents to Mrs. Rhonda Colquitt at colquittr@nlrsd.org by Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.:
• Letter of Intent
• Résumé
• Signed Petition containing signatures of at least twenty (20) qualified residents of Zone 6. (Applicants must print multiple pages to satisfy this requirement.)
Those who prefer to hand deliver the required documents may do so by Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. to the following address:

All interested candidates who submit the required information aforementioned by the deadline are invited to address the North Little Rock Board of Education on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 5:30 pm. The Board will select a replacement at the meeting after hearing from all of the candidates.
The newly appointed Board Member for Zone 6 will serve until March 2028. If the Board Member wishes to retain the seat, he or she must run for election at that time. Board members serve in a non-paid position.
According to state law, all school board members are required to have annual training and are also required to annually submit financial disclosures to the Pulaski County Clerk of Court.
